History / Mission
History: Founded in 1890 as City Hospital, OVMC is a facility in the heart of downtown Wheeling. OVMC has been remodeled and greatly expanded since the late 1950’s while maintaining its century-old tradition to provide high-quality, cost effective medical care, regardless of the ability to pay.
Mission: The medical staff and employees of OVMC are committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective care to promote the health and well-being of those living in our community. To achieve this charitable goal, OVMC delivers specialized, hospital-based care and outpatient services and offers health, wellness and professional education programs.
